A Sign of of Hope in the Philippines

The above picture is from Tacloban, Philippines.  Our Lady of Lourdes with St. Bernadette remain as images of hope amidst the destruction of Typhoon Haiyan.

The lower image is from Brooklyn, NY following Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

You can donate to help the victims of this disaster by going to the Salesians Missions and giving to Typhoon Haiyan Relief in Philippines.

Beautiful couplet of images. But all countries in ocean storm zones must mandate that such people live above sea level and far from the beach...or this death toll will surely happen again several years into the future. Church and secular leaders together should start a safe zoning movement worldwide.

Bill Bannon,, the philippines is an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands. it is difficult not to be situated near waterways: oceans, lakes, rivers, streams, falls. Let us continue praying for the people of the philippine islands.
