Sometimes Fr. Benedict reminds me of Judge Bork! You will recall Judge Bork was the nominee for Supreme Court Justice back in 1987. He was unfortunately voted down by the liberal Senate. Judge Bork wrote a book in 1996 entitled: Slouching Towards Gomorrah: Modern Liberalism and American Decline.

The Judge writes that America and Western culture are in a state of decline and that the cause of this decline is modern liberalism. He attacks modern liberalism for what he describes as its emphases on radical egalitarianism and extreme individualism. Much of this finds its roots in the 1960's and is expressed in America's acceptance of abortion, the immorality of modern medai and the decline of faith.
