Fr. Pascual Chavez has been confirmed as president of the Union of Superiors General (USG) for the next three years (2009-2012). The election took place during the general assembly of the USG on November 27 at the Salesianum in Rome, following the 74th Biannual Assembly, November 26-27. The almost unanimous vote reflected esteem and appreciation for the work undertaken by Fr. Chavez in recent years.
Fr. Chavez was elected president of the USG for the first time on November 24, 2006.
The election of the vice president and other members of the USG Council followed.
