I donlt think that this particular sport is new. If my memory serves correctly (and I just checked, it does! woohoo!), this type of event can be traced all the way back to the Minoans where men and wome teamed up together to somersault over the. Pretty neat to see the old made new again.
PS Tough loss for the Saints but I think they were due for it and needed it as strange as that is to say.

Actually, it isn't new at all! The Ancient Minoans of Crete did lots of bull jumping!
