Thank you for this lesson. I am a Methodist, but since the '80s and Pope John Paul II's courageous stance against communism I have been paying attention to Catholic thought. Too, his acknowledgment of the excesses of the Inquisition meant a lot to me. We (I hope that doesn't sound too proprietary) seem to have in Benedict another pope well suited to the challenges of the times.
