ROME, MARCH 3, 2009 (Zenit.org).- ANSchannel is the new Salesian Internet presence, a place on YouTube where they can provide video information on the life of this religious family.
The Salesian information agency reported today that their new channel, which seeks to collect and share amateur videos about their religious group and young people, has received a positive response in the first days since its initiation.
It opened with the clip, "Siamo Salesiani" (We Are Salesians), the anthem of the participants in the 27th edition of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days.
One of the latest videos is a presentation of the musical drama "Bosco, In the Name of God," produced by some young people from the Salesian house in Salta, Argentina.
Another of the videos is the original version of the song "We Are Salesians," which is part of the musical "Andiamo ragazzi" (Let's Go, Boys), produced with the participation of laypeople and religious of the Salesian Family of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley.
On the channel, an interview can also be seen with Magdi Cristiano Allam, a journalist who tells of his conversion to Christianity and his experience of faith.
"ANSchannel is open to all those who want to send in a video, a news item about youth and Salesian events," explained Father Donato Lacedonio, director of ANS.
He added: "We know that there is a lot going on and that creative activity is a great feature of the Salesian world. In particular we would like to have information about things happening in connection with the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Salesian Congregation."
