I was looking forward to a discussion of the good of granting free will, which, once granted, opens up the possibility of our choosing evil.
If God were to overrule our decision to be separate, to act in a way that is not good for self or others, then the good of free will would have to be abandoned. And, in this context, one might imagine a "bigger picture."
Do you see this addressing the problem with the idea of a deterministic universe in which all effects are attributed to God, thus leaving no room for evil other than evil by the hand of God?

Wonderful topic. Not an easy task to explain.
